Getting Started

Setting Up Your Profile

Your recruiting profile is the foundation of everything on MyNextOffer. Colleges and coaches will see this information when you reach out, so accuracy matters.

  1. Sign in and click your name in the top-right corner, then go to Profile
  2. Fill in your personal information — name, graduation year, sport, and position
  3. Add your academic details — GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and intended major
  4. Enter your physical stats — height, weight, and sport-specific measurables
  5. Add your athletic stats for each season you have data for
  6. Paste your Hudl or YouTube highlight video URL
  7. Click Save Profile when done
  • The more complete your profile, the better your AI-generated emails will be — they pull directly from this data
  • Add multiple sports if you play more than one
  • Update your stats each season to keep everything current

School Finder

Finding the Right Schools

The School Finder helps you identify college programs that match your athletic ability, academic profile, and personal preferences.

  1. Go to School Finder in the left sidebar
  2. Use the filters at the top to narrow results:
  3. Click any school card to see full details including enrollment, academics, costs, and program information
  • Click the Save button on any school card to add it to your saved list
  • Saved schools appear at the top of the School Finder and in your AI Advisor
  • Click Compare on up to 4 school cards
  • A side-by-side comparison panel appears at the bottom of the screen
  • Compare division, enrollment, academics, and costs at a glance
  • At the top of School Finder, the AI Target Schools panel analyzes your profile and suggests the best-fit programs
  • Click Find My Target Schools to generate a personalized list with reasoning

Saving and Tracking Schools

Once you find schools you're interested in, saving them keeps everything organized.

  • At the top of School Finder with a gold bookmark icon
  • In your AI Advisor's school recommendations
  • In the Generate Email flow as quick-select options

To remove a saved school: Click the gold bookmark icon again to unsave it.

Interest levels: After saving a school, you can set your interest level (High, Medium, Exploring) to prioritize your outreach.

Pro tip: Save 15–25 schools across multiple divisions. Having a realistic range — including D2, D3, and NAIA options alongside your D1 targets — dramatically improves your chances of finding a program that's a great fit both athletically and academically.

Generating & Sending Emails

Two Ways to Send Recruiting Emails

MyNextOffer gives you two options for sending coach emails — use whichever works best for you. Both start with AI-generated, personalized content.

  1. Go to Coach Database, click a coach card, and hit Generate Email
  2. Choose your tone: *Formal*, *Confident*, *Conversational*, or *Competitive*
  3. Click Generate with AI
  4. Review and edit the draft, then copy the text
  5. Paste it into your own Gmail or email app and send from there

This works immediately with no extra setup. Your emails come from your own email address.

Option 2 — Send Directly via Gmail (recommended) Connect your Gmail account and send recruiting emails directly from MyNextOffer without copy/pasting. Emails still come from your real Gmail address.

  1. Go to Settings → Gmail section → click Connect Gmail
  2. Sign in with Google and grant permissions
  3. Go to Coach Database, click a coach card, hit Generate Email, then click Send via Gmail
  • One-click sending — no copy/paste
  • Open tracking — see when coaches open your emails

Gmail limits: Sending is capped at 20 emails/day to protect your account from spam flags.

  • Always review the generated email before sending — check that all facts are accurate
  • The AI uses your profile data, so a complete profile = better, more personalized emails
  • Never send an email that claims something untrue about your stats or accomplishments

Connecting Gmail for Direct Sending

Connecting Gmail is optional but recommended — it lets you send directly from MyNextOffer and track coach engagement.

  1. Go to Settings → scroll to the Gmail section
  2. Click Connect Gmail
  3. Sign in with your Google account and grant the requested permissions
  4. Your Gmail address will appear as connected

To disconnect: Go to Settings → Gmail section → click Disconnect.

Don't want to connect Gmail? That's fine — just use Option 1: generate the email, copy it, and send from your own inbox. You'll still get the full AI generation benefit.

Outreach Tracker

Tracking Your Recruiting Contacts

The Outreach Tracker is a central place to manage every coach you've contacted and track where each relationship stands.

  • From the Coach Database, click Add to Outreach Tracker on any coach card
  • Or click + Add Contact directly in the Outreach Tracker
  • Not Contacted — you plan to reach out but haven't yet
  • Contacted — you've sent an initial email or message
  • Responded — the coach has replied (set automatically if Gmail is connected)
  • Interested — the coach has expressed interest in your recruitment
  • Recruited — you've received an official offer or scholarship
  • Kanban view — drag and drop contacts between status columns (great visual overview)
  • Table view — a sortable list, better for tracking large numbers of contacts
  • Click any contact card to open the detail panel
  • Update status, add notes, set a follow-up date, and log activity
  • Set a follow-up date on any contact to get a reminder notification
  • The calendar also shows your upcoming follow-ups

Follow-Up Sequences

Persistence is one of the biggest factors in getting recruited. Most athletes give up after one email — coaches notice who follows up.

  1. Open any contact in the Outreach Tracker
  2. Click Follow-Up Sequence
  3. Choose how many follow-ups to schedule and the spacing (e.g. 7 days apart)
  4. The system will generate follow-up email drafts and schedule reminders
  • First follow-up: 7–10 days after initial contact if no response
  • Second follow-up: 2–3 weeks after the first follow-up
  • After a game or big performance: always a good time to check in
  • After official visits or camp attendance: follow up within 48 hours
  • Reference something specific — a recent game, new stats, a camp you attended
  • Keep it short (3–5 sentences)
  • Always include updated stats or a new highlight if you have one

AI Recruiting Advisor

Getting a Personalized Recruiting Strategy

The AI Advisor analyzes your profile and gives you a personalized recruiting roadmap — what to do, when to do it, and which schools to target.

  1. Go to AI Advisor in the sidebar (under Guidance)
  2. Click Generate My Strategy on the Strategy tab
  3. The advisor will analyze your profile and produce a personalized plan
  • Your recruiting timeline by grade year
  • Recommended division fit based on your stats and academics
  • Outreach timing and frequency guidance
  • Profile improvement suggestions
  • Common mistakes to avoid
  • Click Find My Target Schools to get AI-powered school recommendations
  • Each recommendation includes a fit score and explanation of why the school was suggested
  • Save any recommended school directly to your School Finder list
  • Get specific suggestions for strengthening your recruiting profile
  • The AI identifies gaps — missing stats, incomplete academic info, no highlight video — and tells you what to add

Important: The advisor gives strategic guidance based on recruiting patterns and your profile data. It does not guarantee scholarships or predict admissions outcomes. Use it as a starting point, not a definitive answer.

Camps & Showcases

Finding Camps and Showcases

Attending camps and showcases at schools you're interested in is one of the most effective recruiting tactics. It gets you in front of coaches in person.

  1. Go to Camps & Showcases in the sidebar
  2. Filter by sport, state, division level, and skill level
  3. Click any camp card to see full details including dates, cost, and registration link
  • Go to the AI Advisor → Camp Tips tab
  • The AI suggests camps based on your profile, target schools, and sport, and gives strategic advice on when and how to attend
  • Each recommendation includes a reason why that camp fits your situation
  • Click Add to Calendar on any camp card
  • The camp will appear in your Recruiting Calendar with a reminder
  • Prospect camps — run by college programs, coaches evaluate attendees directly
  • Showcases — third-party events where multiple college coaches attend to watch
  • Elite camps — invitation-only or high-level skill events
  • Youth/general camps — skill development, less recruiting-focused

Pro tip: Prospect camps hosted by a specific school are far more valuable than general showcases if you're seriously targeting that program.

❓

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Will coaches think my emails are AI-generated?

The emails are written to sound like you — they use your actual name, stats, position, and target school details. They're a starting point; always review and personalize before sending. Most athletes make small edits to add their own voice.

How many schools should I contact?

For most athletes, contacting 30–60 programs across multiple divisions is a good starting range. D1 programs receive hundreds of emails — cast a wide net and focus your energy on programs that respond.

What if a coach doesn't respond?

No response is normal, especially at D1. Follow up once or twice. If still no response after 3 contacts, move on — that program isn't likely to be a fit. Focus energy on coaches who engage.

Can MyNextOffer guarantee I'll get recruited?

No. MyNextOffer is a tool to help you organize your recruiting process, communicate professionally, and find the right programs. Getting recruited depends on your athletic ability, academics, fit with a program's needs, and timing. We help with the process, not the outcome.

What sport data do you have?

We have coach and program data for all major college sports including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, track & field, swimming, tennis, golf, wrestling, lacrosse, hockey, gymnastics, rowing, and cross country.

I found incorrect coach information — how do I report it?

In the Coach Database, click the three-dot menu on any coach card and select Submit a Correction. Our team reviews all corrections and updates the database.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first.
